Why Steve Pape is Running
Steve Pape is running for the Minnesota House of Representatives for House District 35B. Steve believes the American Dream is still alive, but that it is at risk in Minnesota, and is committed to doing everything he can to protect it. Minnesota needs strong conservative values rooted in key principles that define our American way of life.

These principles include kindness and compassion, vision and courage, faith and forgiveness, humility and commitment, and integrity and enthusiasm.

Above all, Steve is running because he loves his children and grandchildren too much to stand by and ignore the challenges faced in politics today. Minnesota needs to get back on the right path - one that honors heritage and ensures a brighter future for the next generation.

A Dedication to Public Service

Steve is a dedicated public servant with a solid commitment to representing the residents of Coon Rapids and Andover. Having a wealth of experience and a deep passion for conservative values, he brings a hands-on approach to the political landscape, driven by a lifetime of service and hard work.

Raised in Iowa by hardworking farmers and laborers, Steve's roots are grounded in humility. His father was a World War II veteran, serving over three years without furlough, including participating in the D-Day landing at Normandy. Although his father was quiet and devout, Steve learned of his courageous service just before passing. His father's example shaped Steve's strong family values and instilled a deep understanding of courage, commitment, and a life grounded in faith, humility, and service.

At age 17, Steve enlisted in the U.S. Navy. At age 19, he served in Vietnam. by 22, he was married, attending college, and working full time. Over the years, Steve has been a member of two local manufacturing unions, gaining firsthand experience that would later serve him well in his career.
Professional Experience
Steve's expertise in engineering led him to be invited to serve on a Presidential Blue-Ribbon Commission, where he helped investigate American manufacturing effectiveness and competitiveness. With a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical engineering (BSME) from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Science in Manufacturing Systems Engineering (MSME) from the University of St. Thomas, Steve hold three professional certifications and is a multi-patent holder. He authored numerous professional journal articles and has decades of experience designing systems for the U.S. Department of Defense, excelling at navigating and working effectively within the government.
